All of my jewellery pieces are one off designs, although I can create similar pieces by using the same colours. I endeavour to constantly create new and exciting work and seem to be forever buying buttons. I feel that there is something really special about a handmade item, in the world of the consumer a unique and one off piece is treasured and valued, as it is something rare and often hard to come by.

I started knitting and crocheting when I was 6 (far far too many years from now) and I also enjoy digital scrapbooking. Very recently I have fallen in love with crochet hats - quick and easy to make and in much demand by my kids and their friends. So much so that I decided to make some extras to sell!!

I have been making things (I’ve been told) for much longer than I can even remember. Art is my passion and drawing, painting, printing, bookbinding, sculpture and working with textiles are what bring my life meaning. I grew up in a house with strangely bright colors on the walls and mystifying patterns in the Persian rugs on the floors. I have loved color and pattern ever since and they are themes that continue in my art.

Chunky Chooky

My name is Cath and I have always enjoying being creative. Since having a child I have been even more inspired to create. From my small studio amongst the hills of the Bellinger Valley, Australia I sew - Happy pants- no zippers, no buttons, dresses and softies. I use recycled fabric from my neighbour Ian who is a furniture upholsterer and some vintage fabric I find on Etsy, plus wool felt, scraps of discarded clothes from friends wardrobes. Each softie comes with a unique story about its life.

Little itty bitty

Little itty bitty is a busy mum, happily creating pretty little things for gorgeous little people!

My sweet little daughter (Ruby *heart*) is the inspiration behind many of my pieces! As a child I grew up surrounded by beautiful creations that my clever mum had made with love & care! Following in her creative footsteps wasn't something I'd considered until I had a little one of my own...it seems Ruby's arrival encouraged my creative side! (I actually read somewhere that sleep deprivation can do this!!).

Along with my new found creativity, I also seem to have developed a collecting disorder! I LOVE buttons, yummy fabrics, ribbon, paper, sequins, felt, beads....the list goes on!!

I've been making quilts for 10 years since I had my first baby with all the little pieces and perfect points.
I made them for everyone!
After having a couple more kids time became scarce for big quilts. The kids love things that you can make fast and has a fabric that they love. If you put their name on it somehow it really says you made something special and unique just for them.
All the gifts we gave became handmade.
I have sold a lot in Australia. Now I'm putting myself out there to mingle with other lovers of ETSY handmades!

I often find myself too obssesed with these little buttons which are covered by many different kinds of gorgeous fabrics. I love to make them into unique and practical accessories which will catch people's eyes.
Besides making all these cuties, I enjoy being a mother of 1 little boy aged 1.5 years old. He is my inspiration and also taken lots of my energy daily. He loves to watch me making all these cuties and always wanted to "help". :)
The journey of making buttons has just started but I believe there is a long way to go. I have already filled up my brain with all sorts of ideas of making them work for daily life. Believe me, I still have more to come.

Buttons By Lou Lou

I love shopping for fabric and supplies just as much as I like making buttons - there are some beautiful fabrics around!
In my other time I am a mum of 2 boys aged 2 1/2 years and 3 months. I usually work in the area of health but am having a break at the moment to be home with my boys. I think this is my creative outlet for feminine things. It started as an idea for gifts for my older sons friends, my nieces, etc. and I got a bit obsessed.

Inretrospect

Inretrospect is an assortment of handmade articles using recycled vintage fabrics. I love the idea of having something original and quirky as well as helping our environment by re-using and recycling. I love to create things and especially enjoy the design process. I don't like mass produced items, I love things that are unique and different. I usually only make things a few times because I get bored and can't wait to try something new.
I am interested in recycling materials in new ways such as dresses from tablecloths or bags from curtains.

Hot Fudge

I am a designer living in Brisbane, Australia. I come from a long line of tailors and dressmakers, going back to my great-great grandfather. Over the past twenty-three years I have also been a quilter, making both traditional and contemporary quilts. Back in my twenties I owned a fashion boutique at Bondi Beach. I only make short runs of my clothing, and use top quality fabric. All items are professionally finished. More Hot Fudge can be found right here;

Twinkle Star Art

I am a full time illustrator and mother of 3 little stars.
My drawing ability, passion for creating and my few 'odd quirks' are a blessing passed down from my fabulously talented, slightly eccentric Dad.
After graduating from the Queensland College of Art, I worked for over a decade in the graphic design industry.
Twinkle Star Art was born with the birth of my children for a more family friendly lifestyle. Spending time with my kids inspired my natural transition from graphic design to illustrating for children.

Bubala

I’ve loved sewing since I learnt as a child (thanks mum!) and when I became a mother myself I realised that sewing not only satisfied my creative urge while spending time at home with my babies, but it also filled a void in the childrens wear market for me. My comforters are designed to soothe baby with their soft fabrics and fluffy creatures, and feature sturdy ribbon detail for baby to play with. More beautiful creations from Bubala can be found at;

Thula Thula

I have many years of experience in the industry from Costume design to Fashion, Theatre, Film and TV to dressmaking. I worked in Europe and Asia where I experienced how the production of materials and clothing is constructed. It's a crazy process of machines!
I love to sew and create wonderful pieces while also love to see my clothing be appreciated by anyone who loves unique vintage style design.
I was taught traditional techniques in fashion production, which I still use in all areas of design, construction and pattern making. This fired my love of vintage fabrics, button and accessories, which I try to incorporate in what I make.

JaEmArt

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to create...paint, sew, design, knit...
I enjoy bringing art and sewing together. People often ask about the clothes I make for myself and my daughter and some have made requests for similar. This prompted me to start selling one of a kind childrens and ladies clothes online.
I love to design and create clothing and accessories that are unique and practical at the same time. I'm always looking for vintage and new fabrics to add to my collection. If I can't find the fabric or look I have in mind, I'll paint or decorate to achieve the desired results.

Turtle Dreams

I came across glass art by accident, looking for something at my local arts centre. One term led to another and another..... By now things are emerging from the kiln which I'm pleased with. (even if they aren't always the things I imagined they might be). I love the way glass works; its unpredictability and its contradictory nature (fluid yet solid, strong yet brittle)
It can be used to create so many things: pendants, pictures, bowls, tiles, sculpture….. I live right beside a piece of Australian bush (tucked into suburbia) which is a wonderful source of inspiration. Dorothy-Jane - The turtle of Turtle Dreams.

Mockingbird Willow

Mockingbird Willow came about when I started thinking of the relationship between art and psychology. The aim has been to create children's art with psychological depth. One way in which this is done, is by using quotes in my work to encourage children to think in different ways with the help of their parents. Quotes might be motivational, they may act as an introduction to some classic literature that children may read later in life. I hope my work can act as a catalyst for family discussion, to get kids thinking about what the art work means, and how it makes them feel.
I may be able to tailor work to you needs, please send me an email to discuss options with you. Meagan - email: mockingbirdwillow@live.com.
